What it means

The total the server computes now differs from the expectedTotal the client sent, because a price, a discount or a tax changed after the cart was quoted. The response carries the fresh quote.

What to do

Show the new total and ask the person to confirm it, then send the request again with the new expectedTotal. Never go ahead at the old price.

Example

The API answers with status 409 and this body, as application/problem+json. A detail may be added, saying what went wrong this time; it is for people, and changes.

No endpoint in the OpenAPI document names it yet. It is part of the contract already, so a client can handle it before an endpoint sends it.
